Default Allah = Moon god? - Quick & Simple Refutation

Ellah is the hebrew word for God, and the Aramaic equivalent of it is Eloah, and since Arabic is a sister language of them two languages - Allah is the word for God in that language.

The word Ellah is used in the book of Ezra 4:24, and 7:26. These are Jewish, and even Christian sources.

JazakAllah khair. I found the whole moon god issue funny one and without any basis, How come we are worshing the Moon God when Allah say it clearly in the Quran here:

وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ وَالشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ لَا تَسْجُدُوا لِلشَّمْسِ وَلَا لِلْقَمَرِ وَاسْجُدُوا لِلَّهِ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُنَّ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ
And of His portents are the night and the day and the sun and the moon. Adore not the sun nor the moon; but adore to Allah Who created them, if it is in truth Him Whom ye worship.
[fusilat: 37]

The more funny thing in that issue is that they claimed that their scientists had discovered remainings of the Moon God "culture" in the Arabian peninsula when the prophet did destroyed all of the statues in Macca and the Kuffar are not allowed to enter Macca since it has been ruled by the Muslims after Fateh Macca

A very good link to refute that issue but Unfortunetly its in Arabic: here

asalaam alaikum

its a christian/jewish dictionary, which places Allah as a similar term to the biblical definitions and names of God. It has no mention of 'moon' anywhere. So its a refutation to christians, against christians, using their own biblical dictionary.

also;

The Quraysh were arabs who Prophet Muhammad came to, who descended off Prophet Abraham. Prophet Abraham [Ibrahim] worshipped the One God, the Lord of the Worlds, Allah.

They called their idols Al 'Uzzah from Allah's name Al Azeez [the Great], Manaat from Manaan and Al Laat from Allah.

Its likely that Prophet Ibrahim knew of these names of Allah through revelation, but the Quraysh distorted them afterwards and named their idols with them twisted in a feminine way.

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem,

as-Salaamu Alaykum.

Do you have any information on the book/dictionary so I can see it for myself please.

And check how close to Allah this sounds:

The Aramaic Name for God - Elah

First one hear it and it gives all the places where it is used, sounds so close to Allah.
