You cannot possibly learn about Islam if you do not know what it means. Hence, first thing, which you should learn about Islam is what the word, "Islam" means! It means submitting yourself to the will of Almighty Lord, Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala), only worthy of worship. A Muslim is the one who completely submits himself to the commands of Allah (SWT). Islam preaches pure monotheism teachings and it is not a new religion, which was introduced by Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).
