| :Maybe I’m the only one who thinks of this, but why are some Muslim countries TOTALLY forgotten even in times of war, it REALLY makes me angry. I know what happened in Gaza was really bad, as well as Iraq and Afghanistan but what’s really upsetting is that I saw so much angry in people when these events happened even myself, but when other tragic events take place such as what happening in Sudan, Somalia, Mail you do not see much ( maybe Sudan) . When that whole Bangladesh cyclone happened I witnessed the Bangladeshi community ALONE helping their people same for Somalia, I saw Somalia’s raising money etc. I think we as Muslims tend to forget that regardless of someone’s background they are your sister/brother. For example if someone is suffering in Somaliland and if another is suffering in Pakistan I should feel and do the same for both. I hope this thread makes sense. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Jazkallah Khayran for reading, insh-Allah none of you will take this in the wrong way, it’s just my opinion masalam |

| Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem, I think there is a point to it. As always I think it boils down to religious commitment. I don't think it neccesarily a tribe.race thing, I think it's more of a whatsinyourfacenow type of thing. Everyone wanted to help Palestine during the time it was openly in the media day in and out, for the bangladesh community who would hear day in and out about back home they would want to help etc, I guess it makes it more real when you see it and feel something. But I think if we all were more practicing it would make us more humanitarian in general. Br.al-Habeshi |

| SubhanaAllah, JazakAllah khair for this reminder. there is indeed a lack to respond to some crisis. There do exist organisations that don't make this distinction however. Like Islamic Relief Home for example. Who have projects running in Africa and Asia to.

| I agree with you sister, its really a sad thing.. It seems that people even Muslims follow what the rest of the world do. take for example what happened in Gaza...... many people around the world were angry, even non muslims. Another example is Iraq before several years, everyone remember what how the world was angry of what US did.... I think the media has the big hand here. Unfortunately, what happen in Sudan or Somalia seems to not touch the media "and I mean the media of the Islamic country in specific" that much to show the people suffering there. That is really sad thing happening to our Ummah |

| ^sister, we can't really blame the media; the media is controlled by handful people when it comes to politics, whether a Muslim country or a non-Muslims country. The responsibility falls onto our shoulders and it is our fault for not being aware of these kinds of situations or not laying any role to make it better or create awareness among people. In general, it always have been like this, when something happens in "Arab" Muslim countries we tend to come together, but for other Muslim countries we tend to stay low. Off course, I'm not making a sweeping generalization, but this is kind of trend I've noticed. I mean, how many times have we talked about issues faced by Muslims in Africa or Kashmir. The problem is exactly what mentioned by brother Habeshi

| asalaam alaikum I agree that the same should be done with all the muslim lands, but i've heard in a talk that Palestine is the holy land, so you know, its given more attention. Also, something amazing Ahmad Jibril said in a talk; Whoever rules the holy land of Jerusalem, he controls the world. Look at history and you'll see that its a reality. |

| @ brother Salman: right, its not all because of Media....we have a role here. But I dont think that the media role is ignored. I remember before four months when Qaza was under the fire, the majority channels I watched on TV was talking about the issue. they made all people busy with Gaza news. Newspaper were full of news... even children were talking about the news they watch or heard their families talk about. Sometimes, Muslims need to have a hard shock to be awake. They dont seems to be waked up for what happend daily in some countries. It seems that they need to hear about hundreds of people die a day to be aware that there is something happen in the other side its not only in Arab countries brother.....remember what happen in Afghanistan before few years, that influence a lot of people back then. La Hawla Wa La Qwata Ila Billah May Allah forgive us for what we did |
