This leaked document reveals Ethiopia's military and logistic support to the newly formed Islamist Ahlu Suna Wal Jamea group, aiming at destabilizing Somalia and to getting President Obamas attention to the region.

According to reports by AFP, following withdrawal of Ethiopia's forces from Somalia, people enjoyed a brief period of peace, and families, who were displaced by fighting in Mogadishu, had started returning. Fresh fighting erupted soon between the Islamist forces of Ahlu Suna Wal Jamea and Al Shabab, through Ethiopia's destabilization strategy, a religious civil strife.

The letter sent from Disaasa Diribsa, Ethiopian Ambassador in Kenya to the Vice Foreign Minister Tekeda Alemu, confirms Ethiopia's military and logistic support to the new Islamist Ahlu Suna Wal Jamea against Al Shabab.

but I've to say that I'm not buying the "document" unless there's an authentic evidence proving it. I mean what are the sources, are they trustworthy?

That's the problem, we don't know who or what to trust. And we can't afford to be sceptical all the time.

Personally, I blame the Somalians tendency towards tribalism for their problems. May Allah make it easier for them.

Tribalism is and has been Somalias biggest problem historically and currently. This coupled with other factors [ which you have not been clear on] is the downfall of Somalia.

let's maintain the good adab while discussing the issues. sister Ifrah, maybe you can tell us more about the other kinds of problems Somalia is facing other than what have been mentioned before. I'm sure it would be benefical for everyone, insha'Allah, Jazak Allah khayr

whether its tribalism and or other kinds of culture mix, this can be found in all of the Muslim nations. Sadly, Islaam came to destroy the jahliyyah customs but we've gone back to them again.

Bro, Me and Sister Ifrah are best friends and we know eachother. We mess about these topics everyday. InshAllah don't think we are mean or for the lack of better words upset with eachother. Baraka llah feek. (I'm sure i would have got a call being blasted if i made her upset...)

Anyway back to the topic: Every country where the majority are muslim is suffering. The Solution is simple.

Somalia faces many problems I believe the biggest one is their lack of understanding Islam, marshAllah if you go to Somalia or Somaliland I promise you, you will find that mostly everyone in the country has finished the beautiful Qur'an marshallah you will see that mostly everyone is covered and that they fear One God, but do they no the meaning’s behind why they cover or the Qur'an some do while other's don’t. They also don't understand that tribalism is wrong, may Allah (swt) help them, they see it as a good thing, I’m 100% sure that if they understood, it would end. But sister Tribalism is not the main issue as if it was Somaliland, would not have had a Durood president and either would <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Somalia</st1:place></st1:country-region>. Somaliland and <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Somalia</st1:place></st1:country-region> speak kind of different languages; they have different cultures and different traditions BUT THEY HAVE THE SAME Religion Islam alhamdulilallah. I think the somailan's have realised this and thus this is the main reason why they want to make an Islamic state in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Somalia</st1:place></st1:country-region>. May Allah swt make it successful for them, Ameen. I hope I have helped you, I’m not really knowledgeable, in the whole Somalian issue but I do no with the help of Allah (swt) the giver of life and death that inshallah one day <st1:country-region w:st="on">Somalia</st1:country-region> and <st1:place w:st="on">Somaliland</st1:place> will both be Islamic states with right Sharia law. Do you know every aspect of islam? Obviously not. Why do you make it a criterion for the Muslims to know every aspect of islam or at the very least for them to have extensive knowledge on islam? You belittle the Somalians by saying the reason why they have so many problems is due to their lack of knowledge. Perhaps that may be so! But if you ask ANY Somali individual, Why do you pray? They will tell you because Allah (swt) commanded us to pray. And if you ask the women, They will reply with Because Allah (swt) has commanded women to guard their chastity and be modest... It makes no sense to argue that this is their problem. But yes they need to see how Haram their view of tribes is! :(

But historically speaking whenever somalia has had a air of stability and peace it has been through the establishment of Islam. As for Somaliland lol (habla) The differences of dialect and culture is evident within the different tribes therefore the fact that Somaliland happen to wear a different type of dera3 style from those in darood does not mount to anything. i'll spare you since we are on the same campus.
