| Q: ….have you ever thought...wondered...why God sent all his messengers to the middle east??? i don`t recal that there was a messenger of God sent to Africa...or south america....or for that mater china...russia...asia...!!!! when we all know that there was a vast civilisation in these parts or the globe!!! you ever thought about this?? Islam or the prescribed and approved ‘way of life’ for attaining peace in this world and salvation in the Hereafter by surrendering the will of man to the Will of Allah, was the religion which originated from the very first man who was sent to this world, the common father of all mankind and the Noble Prophet of Allah, Adam (a.s.). This way of life (Islam) was the deen of all the Prophets who ever came to this earth. The Holy Quran mentions only about 26 Prophets of Allah by name, and the fact is that they all originated in the larger Middle East. All the Prophets mentioned by name in the Quran are from the the Bani Israel except four prophets who were from the Arabs.. namely: Prophet Hud (a.s.), Prophet Saleh (a.s.), Prophet Shuaib (a.s.), and the Last and Final Messenger of Allah, Mohamed ar-Rasool Allah (saws). In light of the guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah, what we do know with absolute certainty is that Allah Subhanah sent His Prophets to every community and Ummah through all times and ages, starting with the first man on earth, Prophet Adam (a.s.) and ending with the Last and Final Prophet and the Seal of Allah’s Messengers, Prophet Mohamed ibn Abdullah (saws). Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 40 Surah Mumin verse 78: In light of the absolutely clear guidance of the Glorious Qruan, the Lord All-Just, All-Merciful sent His Prophets to every nation and every people all over the world; all relaying the exact same Message of belief and worship of the One and Only Lord Creator Alone. It seems that the main reason and wisdom the Glorious Quran only finds mention of the names of the Prophets of Allah that originated in the Middle East, is that when Prophet Mohamed (saws) told them the stories of these Prophets, the people who were being addressed (The Arabs, the Jews, and the Christians, etc.) were already aware of those names, their message and their existence. Allah Subhanah cites the stories of various Prophets in His Glorious Qruan as examples, to warn the people, that Allah destroyed those communities before you that rejected the Message of Allah, and give good news to the believers. It was also to reconfirm to the Jews and Christians of the time (and even today), that Mohamed (saws) had not come with a new religion, but came to confirm the religion that they all claimed they followed, that is, the religion of Prophet Ibraheem (a.s.).. The Glorious Quran also states and declares that Prophet Mohamed (saws) was sent to confirm the Message of the previous Prophets, and set-right the corruptions these people had innovated/added/subtracted from their original religion, according to their own whims and fancies and without any right from Allah Subhanah. Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verses 40-41: The disbelievers amongst the Arabs, the Jews, and the Christians of the times strongly opposed and rejected the Message and the Mission which Prophet Mohamed (saws) was sent on by His Lord, even though they well knew the names and stories of the ancient Prophets from their own Scriptures. One can only imagine what these evil rejecters and disbelievers in the Truth would have done and said if Prophet Mohamed (saws) told them the names and stories of the other Prophets of Allah whom they did not recognize, and of regions and people of the earth whom they had never even heard of! In light of the absolutely clear guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah, it is evident that the Lord Most Just sent His Prophets to proclaim His Message to every people that ever existed on this earth…..a few amongst them whose stories are mentioned by name; and others whose stories or names do not find mention in the Last and Final Message of the Glorious Quran Source: http://www.islamhelpline.com/view_an...asp?QAID=28301

| asalaam alaikum Also, Allah's Messenger informed us we would follow the ways of the nations before us step by step - when referring the jews and christians. So obviously they're the best example to narrate of in the Qur'an and Sunnah for our benefit. So we know what to follow and what to avoid. |

| Following the Practices of the Kuffar These are some interesting narrations worthy of reflection that are found in Hamud at-Tuwayjri’s ‘Ithaf al-Jama’ah bi Ma Ja’ fil-Fitan wal-Malahim wa Ashrat as-Sa’ah’ (1/267-274), and they deal with the concept of the Muslims imitating the practices of the nations that came before them. Of course, when these types of narrations come that inform us of future events, they are meant as an indhar (warning), not iqrar (approval) of what is being mentioned: 1 - Abu Sa’id al-Khudri narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said: “Indeed, you will follow the practices of those who came before you - handspan by handspan, armspan by armspan - to the point that if they follow the lizard into its hole, you would follow them in this.” We said: “O Messenger of Allah, are you referring to the Jews and Christians?” He replied: “Who else?” [Reported by Ahmad, al-Bukhari, and Muslim] 2 - al-Mustawrad bin Shaddad said that the Messenger of Allah said: “This nation (i.e. the Muslims) will not leave anything from the practices of the people who came before it except that it will adopt them.” [Reported by at-Tabarani, and al-Haythami said: "Its narrators are trustworthy."] 3 - Hudhayfah said: “You will follow ways of those who came before you, step by step. You will not avoid their path, and it will not avoid you.” [Reported by al-Ajuri in 'ash-Shari'ah'] 4 - He also said: “There is nothing that Bani Isra’il did except that you will do the same.” So, a man asked: “Will there be homosexuality amongst us?” He replied: “Yes.” [Reported by Ibn Abi Shaybah] 5 - ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud said: “By Allah, you resemble Bani Isra’il more than anyone else. You will not leave a single thing that they did except that you will also do it, and there will not be a single characteristic that they had except that you will also have it.” [Reported by Muhammad bin Nasr al-Maruzi in 'as-Sunnah'] 6 - Ibn Mas’ud and Hudhayfah both said: “You resemble Bani Isra’il more than anyone else in their character and practice. You imitate them in their actions step by step, except that I am not sure whether or not you will worship a calf!” [Reported by al-Baghawi and Ibn Abi Shaybah] 7 - Ibn ‘Abbas said: “There isn’t anything that was with Bani Isra’il except that it will also be with you.” [Reported by Nu'aym bin Hammad and Muhammad bin Nasr al-Maruzi] 8 - ‘Ubadah bin as-Samit said: “By Allah, there is nothing about those who came before you except that it will also be with you.” [Reported by Muhammad bin Nasr al-Maruzi] 9 - Ibn ‘Umar said: “You will adopt the practices of those who came before you - the good and the bad.” [Reported by al-Maruzi] 10 - al-Walid said that he was walking with Abyad, one of the Companions of the Prophet, to visit a friend: “So, we entered the mosque, and we saw the people praying. I said: “Praise be to Allah who has caused Islam to unite white and black people!” So, Abyad said: “By the One in Whose Hand my soul is, the Day of Resurrection will not come until you adopt some practices of every religion.” I said: “Will this be because people will leave Islam?” He replied: “They will pray like you pray, they will sit in your gatherings, they will live amongst you, and they will adopt some of the practices of every religion.”" [Reported by 'Abdan in the book 'as-Sahabah'] The author, Shaykh Hamud at-Tuwayjri (رحمه الله) then mentions: “These mawquf narrations from the Companions have the ruling of being marfu’ (attributed to the Prophet), since they discuss issues of the Unseen, and the Companions would not speak about such issues from their own opinion. Rather, they took these words from the Prophet, and Allah Knows best.” http://iskandrani.wordpress.com/2008...of-the-kuffar/ |
