Default Maqaasid ash-Shar'iyyah Between Sunnism and Modernism

Discussing the difference of understanding of objectives and aims (Maqaasid) of Shari'ah between Sunnism and Modernism

As our dear brother Salman posted a valuable video regarding the "Use and Abuse of Maqaasid ash-Shar'iyyah" under the video section

the Question is, How do we reconcile the modernist and progressive endeavors regarding their view on Maqaasid and that of the classical Sunni view of Maqaasid of the Shariah

To understand this difference, it is very simple and needs not much of a clarification, but I wished to highlight it here for future reference.

The difference between the Sunni view of Maqaasid from the Modernist view is that with the sunni view, Maqaasid are the results of certain ahkam and not the illah (i.e. reason of revelation) of these ahkam.

With the Modernist view, the Maqaasid for them are the "illa" i.e. the reason for the revelation, and this is a fundamental point to consider because this point might sound small, but the effects of these points has drastic differences. and inshallah later on I will explain the difference
