Default Why there can only be one God

Why there can only be one God.

If there was more than one God, then if the other 'god' was to make a commandment, and the first god disagreed to this command - one of the gods will not have his commandment applied or established.

This would make him unable, and God is not unable, because perfection implies that you are able to do whatever you will, whenever you will. God is Perfect, and has no restrictions.

That's why there can only be one God.

^^hahaha. @ Fawatul Allah reply.

The polytheists are gonna say that God is one but he created himself into various Gods...and they will never disagree with each other.

Therefore this arugment lacks any weight. The best way is that There can be ONE GOD or there can be more the ONE GOD. Since we have never visited God all that we know is either from His Messenegers of through Peoples imaginations. The Gods Messengers obviously spoke the truth and they all said God is One and people imaginations are just like smoke !

Regards

asalam alaikum

the argument holds against religious groups such as the historic greeks who believed in many gods such as zeus, and the other 'gods' which caused the different worldly changes. i.e. neptune [in roman theology] - the god of water, etc. i.e. if one god willed rain, and another drought for one area - whose rule would apply? one would have to be defeated, so in reality not be a true god.

There's other religions too, like the Zoroastrian religion [in iran] which believes that there are 2 gods, one god of good/light and another of evil/darkness. And that theres a constant power struggle between the two. Now if there was 2 gods, they are equals in power and strength - so are they really Gods then?

Allah is the true God because He is unique, and He has no equals in any way. Something cannot be perfect if it has an equal. That's because perfection implies that you have no restrictions or limits by anyone or anything, and if you have restrictions - then you don't have the power to do whatever you will. Allah has power to do all things without limit, so He is Perfect.
