Default Important Duaa for Laylatul Qadr

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
I have heard from our Sheikh that it is better to say, in these valuable last ten days in Ramadan,

As i remember

اللهم انك عفوكريم تحب العفو فااعفو عنا

My English Translation ''It is not completely good''

Allah,You are the all Generous and the all Merciful,so Please Forgive us.

May ALLAH grant us His mercy ,and enter us ان شاء الله the Paradise.
We all trust YOU God.

:

Thanks for sharing this beautiful dua. I was trying to recall this which I forgot! The Imam of majid where i do tarawih often recites the longer version of this.

Although I am not at all good at arabic , unfortunate me , despite of having lived all my life in Saudi Arabia... , i think according to my translation it would be :

"Allah,You are the Most Forgiving and the all Merciful,so Please Forgive us."

May Allah forgive our sins and reward us with Jannatal Firdous.

As-Salamu 'Alaykum

Barak Allahu feekee for sharing and reminding sister. Let me quote the exact hadith:

'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I asked the Messenger of Allah: "O Messenger of Allah, if I know what night is the night of Qadr, what should I say during it?' He said: "Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'annee" (Reported in Sunan at-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Musnad Ahmad).

Here's the Arabic version of the du'a mentioned in the hadith

الهم انك عفو تحب العفوا فا اعفو عنى

Roughly translated into English as, "Ya Allah, You're forgiving and You love to forgive, so forgive me"

The word "kareem" before "tuhib" isn't found in this hadith; maybe there's another hadith which contains that wording. One more thing, just in case if anyone doesn't know 'annee is singular and 'annaa is plural.

Wallahu A'lam
