بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: With the Name Of Allah (God), the Bestower Of Mercy, the Most Merciful.

حم

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Hâ¬Mîm. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings].

[ 43:2 ]

وَالْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: By the manifest Book (i.e. this Qur'ân that makes things clear).

[ 43:3 ]

إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Verily, we have made it a Qur'ân in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions).

[ 43:4 ]

وَإِنَّهُ فِي أُمِّ الْكِتَابِ لَدَيْنَا لَعَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌ

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And Verily, it (this Qur'ân) is in the Mother of the Book (i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz), with Us, indeed Exalted, full of Wisdom.

أَفَنَضْرِبُ عَنكُمُ الذِّكْرَ صَفْحًا أَن كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا مُّسْرِفِينَ

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Shall We then (warn you not and) take away the Reminder (this Qur'ân) from you, because you are a people Musrifûn.

[ 43:6 ]

وَكَمْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن نَّبِيٍّ فِي الْأَوَّلِينَ

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And how many a Prophet have We sent amongst the men of old.

[ 43:7 ]

وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن نَّبِيٍّ إِلَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِؤُون

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him.

[ 43:8 ]

فَأَهْلَكْنَا أَشَدَّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا وَمَضَى مَثَلُ الْأَوَّلِينَ

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these,— and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them)

وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ خَلَقَهُنَّ الْعَزِيزُ الْعَلِيمُ

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And indeed if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will surely say: "The All-Mighty, the All-Knower created them."

الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ مَهْدًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way,

وَالَّذِي نَزَّلَ مِنَ السَّمَاء مَاء بِقَدَرٍ فَأَنشَرْنَا بِهِ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا كَذَلِكَ تُخْرَجُونَ

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure. then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the gaves),

وَالَّذِي خَلَقَ الْأَزْوَاجَ كُلَّهَا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ الْفُلْكِ وَالْأَنْعَامِ مَا تَرْكَبُونَ

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride;

لِتَسْتَوُوا عَلَى ظُهُورِهِ ثُمَّ تَذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ رَبِّكُمْ إِذَا اسْتَوَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَتَقُولُوا سُبْحانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: In order that you may mount on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: "Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts)."

[ 43:14 ]

وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return!

[ 43:15 ]

وَجَعَلُوا لَهُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ جُزْءًا إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَكَفُورٌ مُّبِينٌ

English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Yet they assign to some of His slaves a share with Him (by pretending that He has children, and considering them as equals or co-partners in worship with Him). Verily, man is indeed a manifest ingrate!
