بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: With the Name Of Allah (God), the Bestower Of Mercy, the Most Merciful.
[ 37:1 ]
وَالصَّافَّاتِ صَفًّا
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows).
[ 37:2 ]
فَالزَّاجِرَاتِ زَجْرًا
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: By those (angels) who drive the clouds in a good way.
[ 37:3 ]
فَالتَّالِيَاتِ ذِكْرًا
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Qur'ân from Allâh to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathîr].
[ 37:4 ]
إِنَّ إِلَهَكُمْ لَوَاحِدٌ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Verily your Ilâh (God) is indeed One (i.e. Allâh);
[ 37:5 ]
رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ الْمَشَارِقِ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of the sun's risings.
[ 37:6 ]
إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاء الدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ الْكَوَاكِبِ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Verily! We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty).
[ 37:7 ]
وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ مَّارِدٍ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And to guard against every rebellious devil.
[ 37:8 ]
لَا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى الْمَلَإِ الْأَعْلَى وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: They cannot listen to the higher group (angels) for they are pelted from every side.
[ 37:9 ]
دُحُورًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment.
[ 37:10 ]
إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ الْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Except such as snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness.
[ 37:11 ]
فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَا إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُم مِّن طِينٍ لَّازِبٍ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay.
[ 37:12 ]
بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Nay, you (O Muhammad SAW) wondered (at their insolence) while they mock (at you and at the Qur'ân).
[ 37:13 ]
وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا لَا يَذْكُرُونَ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And when they are reminded, they pay no attention.
[ 37:14 ]
وَإِذَا رَأَوْا آيَةً يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And when they see an Ayâh (a sign, a proof, or an evidence) from Allâh, they mock at it.
[ 37:15 ]
وَقَالُوا إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And they say: "This is nothing but evident magic!
