بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: With the Name Of Allah (God), the Bestower Of Mercy, the Most Merciful.
[ 53:1 ]
وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: By the star when it goes down, (or vanishes).
[ 53:2 ]
مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred.
[ 53:3 ]
وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Nor does he speak of (his own) desire.
[ 53:4 ]
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: It is only a Revelation revealed.
[ 53:5 ]
عَلَّمَهُ شَدِيدُ الْقُوَى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: He has been taught (this Qur'ân) by one mighty in power [Jibril (Gabriel)]
[ 53:6 ]
ذُو مِرَّةٍ فَاسْتَوَى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: One free from any defect in body and mind, then he (Jibril — Gabriel in the real shap as created by Allah) rose and became stable.
[ 53:7 ]
وَهُوَ بِالْأُفُقِ الْأَعْلَى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: While he [Jibril (Gabriel)] was in the highest part of the horizon,
[ 53:8 ]
ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Then he [Jibril (Gabriel)] approached and came closer,
[ 53:9 ]
فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And was at a distance of two bows' length or (even) nearer,
[ 53:10 ]
فَأَوْحَى إِلَى عَبْدِهِ مَا أَوْحَى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: So (Allâh) revealed to His slave [Muhammad SAW through Jibrail (Gabriel) A.S.] whatever He revealed.
[ 53:11 ]
مَا كَذَبَ الْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: The (Prophet's) heart lied not in what he (Muhammad SAW) saw.
[ 53:12 ]
أَفَتُمَارُونَهُ عَلَى مَا يَرَى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad SAW) about what he saw [during the Mi'râj: (Ascent of the Prophet SAW to the seven heavens)]
[ 53:13 ]
وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ نَزْلَةً أُخْرَى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And indeed he (Muhammad SAW) saw him [Jibril (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time).
[ 53:14 ]
عِندَ سِدْرَةِ الْمُنْتَهَى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Near Sidrat-ul-Muntaha (a lote-tree of the utmost boundary over the seventh heaven beyond which none can pass).
[ 53:15 ]
عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ الْمَأْوَى
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Near it is the Paradise of Abode.
