بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: With the Name Of Allah (God), the Bestower Of Mercy, the Most Merciful.
[ 74:1 ]
يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُدَّثِّرُ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped in garments!
[ 74:2 ]
قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Arise and warn!
[ 74:3 ]
وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And magnify your Lord (Allâh)!
[ 74:4 ]
وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And purify your garments!
[ 74:5 ]
وَالرُّجْزَ فَاهْجُرْ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)!
[ 74:6 ]
وَلَا تَمْنُن تَسْتَكْثِرُ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of obedience to Allah as a favour to Him).
[ 74:7 ]
وَلِرَبِّكَ فَاصْبِرْ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And be patient for the sake of your Lord (i.e. perform your duty to Allâh)!
[ 74:8 ]
فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي النَّاقُورِ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Then, when the Trumpet is sounded (i.e. the second blowing of horn);
[ 74:9 ]
فَذَلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day —
[ 74:10 ]
عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Far from easy for the disbelievers.
[ 74:11 ]
ذَرْنِي وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًا
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walîd bin Al-Mughîrah Al-Makhzûmî)!
[ 74:12 ]
وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُ مَالًا مَّمْدُودًا
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And then granted him resources in abundance.
[ 74:13 ]
وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًا
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And children to be by his side!
[ 74:14 ]
وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُ تَمْهِيدًا
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: And made life smooth and comfortable for him!
[ 74:15 ]
ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: After all that he desires that I should give more;
