بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: With the Name Of Allah (God), the Bestower Of Mercy, the Most Merciful.
[ 44:1 ]
حم
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Hâ-Mîm [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings]
[ 44:2 ]
وَالْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: By the manifest Book (this Qur'ân) that makes things clear,
[ 44:3 ]
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَارَكَةٍ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: We sent it (this Qur'ân) down on a blessed night [(i.e. night of Qadr, Sûrah No: 97) in the month of Ramadân — the 9th month of the Islâmic calendar]. Verily, We are ever warning [mankind that Our Torment will reach those who disbelieve in Our Oneness of Lordship and in Our Oneness of worship].
[ 44:4 ]
فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Therein (that night) is decreed every matter of ordainments
[ 44:5 ]
أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: As a Command (or this Qur'an or the Decree of every matter) from Us. Verily, We are ever sending (the Messengers),
[ 44:6 ]
رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: (As) a Mercy from your Lord. Verily! He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.
[ 44:7 ]
رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you (but) have a faith with certainty.
[ 44:8 ]
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ آبَائِكُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Lâ ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). It is He Who gives life and causes death,— your Lord and the Lord of your fore-fathers.
[ 44:9 ]
بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Nay! They play about in doubt.
[ 44:10 ]
فَارْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِي السَّمَاء بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Then wait you for the Day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke.
[ 44:11 ]
يَغْشَى النَّاسَ هَذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Covering the people? this is a painful torment.
[ 44:12 ]
رَبَّنَا اكْشِفْ عَنَّا الْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: (They will say): "Our Lord! Remove the torment from us, really we shall become believers!"
[ 44:13 ]
أَنَّى لَهُمُ الذِّكْرَى وَقَدْ جَاءهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: How can there be for them an admonition (at the time when the torment has reached them), when a Messenger explaining things clearly has already come to them.
[ 44:14 ]
ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Then they had turned away from him (Messenger Muhammad SAW) and said: "Hw is One taught (by a human being), a madman!"
[ 44:15 ]
إِنَّا كَاشِفُو الْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُمْ عَائِدُونَ
English Dr. Mohsin Khan: Verily, We shall remove the torment for a while. Verily! You will revert (to disbelief).
