How a Modernist Dispels Orthodoxy

The following material was a response to someone who asked about an explanation (tafseer) of the Qur'an if I remember correctly. Actually, I think it was more specifica regarding the message of the Qur'an or something like that. This was the reply of this obstinate modernist

The fact that you can't find a single credible book regarding the Quranic message speaks volumes on why the Quran is so distant to the Muslim of today, let alone the Muslims for the past 1000 years. It took me over 6 years plus to come across Islahi, and it was because of Islahi that I recognized that I wasted many years of my life reading hogwash. I'm still spending a lot of time trying to remove from my memory a lot of the 'scholarship' that has clouded my view of the Quran.
