Default First time in Mosque

I am a born muslim, but didnt start practicing until recently.
I went to a mosque for the first time yesterday. So i am just learning salat correctly. Inshallah I will stay on the right path, as I get severe moments of extreme doubt while doing prayer.

Alhumdulilah that is a good news to hear. May Allah keep you steadfast on the right path.

You see many things new to you as you were not familiar with them before since you were not practicing in the past. I think this explain why you have some doubts.
I suggest that you ask about any doubt you got in your mind, so you will get things cleared up inshaAllah.

I don't believe these doubts but they do put me in a depressed mood. Things like god cant exist, im doing this for no reason, this is a waste of my life, etc.

Salam

Good to hear you're adopting islam into your life brother ;-) .The following should cheer you up:

Quote:
Some of the Sahaabah complained about the Whispers that were bothering [?] them. Some of the companions of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said to him, ‘We find in ourselves thoughts that are too terrible to speak of.’ He said, ‘Are you really having such thoughts?’ They said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘That is a clear sign of faith.’” (Narrated by Muslim). (Narrated by Muslim, 132 from the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah).

Quote:
“And if an evil whisper from Shaytaan (Satan) tries to turn you away (O Muhammad) (from doing good), then seek refuge in Allaah. Verily, He is the All‑Hearer, the All‑Knower”

[Fussilat 41:36]
Islam Question and Answer - Disturbed by waswaas (whispers from the Shaytaan) and evil thoughts

Salam my brother, and do not despair, we all have such thoughts.

Same would happen to me. The shaytan tries his best to concieve you when you start practicing. If I was a brother, I would go to an Arab mosq rather than Europeanf and learn namaz from Arabs. Make sure you attend Juma too. Don't get offended, I'm European myself. We are lax on things and stick to madhabs ignoring the correct views. Also learn to recite stuff from internet. The books I have, they always try to make Arabic as their language. This misleads the pronaunciation.

Try your best to focus during Salah. Pray Sunnet so you get into the habit of offerning Salah.
Don't worry what the creation thinks of you. It doesn't matter as long as you are pleasing Allah. Try your best to satisfy Allah and try your best to stay away from what displeases Him. Stay away from minor sins such as music, bad friends etc...

1. Seek obligatory and or benefitial knowledge.
2. Act upon it.
3. Observe the creation.

When I became a practicing, many people tried to misguide me by telling me to follow madhabs etc...

Brother, if you reject any hadeeths or a verse from the Qur'aan, you have disbelieved. You can always repent. Make sure you get ccess to accurate knowledge.

Please read this book. it is really important.
