What do you mean by "we"? Brother, none of the above CLAIMS belong to you. They belong to ibn Hajar, Zahabee or Taymiyya.. You and I better read their (the philosophers I mentioned in my 1st post) books first. And, guess I bought two books by Sheikh Sadi. Reading them. Really wonderful. Thanks

HamzaTR-in Turkish you'll not find any critics about them from right guided scholars,for sure ;)

al-boriqee-can now days scholar give examples from Qurtubi, Ibn al-Arabi and al-Ghazali and call them ,, a great scholars,, (i mean ,,wahabi scholar gives examples with their sayings and is not about akida or shari'a)?

this was what I was talking about in hamza's invention of an imaginary madhaab. what is a wahhabi scholar? I never heard of it.

the only "wahhabiyya" that ever occured was with a group fo Khawaarij in the fourth islamic century in the lands of Africa and they were died off. That is the only record in Islamic history about wahhabiyyah and there were no known scholars among them. Thus the term "wahhabi scholar" is not only an oxymoron, it is something that does not exist.

al-Qurtubee was a great scholar and part of the greatness of his scholarship is due to the fact of him being in opposition and being a completely different caliber than the "philosophers". Thus to class al-Qurtubee as a philosopher is a defamation of al-Qurtubee rather than a praise for him.

we all could comment on the greatness of Ghazali, again with all of his greatness having no connection to the world of philosophy and kalaam.The ummah's debt to him is in the world of fiqh and usoolul-fiqh along with the base forms of spirituality. That is how al-Ghazali helped the ummah. His damage to the ummah was in entering into philosophy and kalaam. So we seek Allah to forgive him for that and to grant him a high status for his benefit to the ummah

As for Ibn Arabi, everyone who knew of Ibn Arabi who became acquainted with his ideas understood him to be the dajjaal of the ummah. his kufr became known is his futuhaat al-makkiyyah and what some people wish to disassociate from him, his fusoos wal-hikam. These books only benefit the magicians, sorcerers, and mystics among hindus and other pagan oriented mystics and grave worshipers.

again, all of this was known long before the error of some people to invent a new sect out of thin air known as wahhabi.

its quite strange to label ibn hajr, dhahabee, and others as "wahhabi" scholars.

al-boriqee-here you can update yourself;
list of a ,,present wahabi scholars,,

~~ yasir qadhi unveiled ~~

So can a scholar give examples and proclaim the greatness of those philosophers to the layman?Isn't that little bit dangerous for us,if we don't know anything about those ppl and we trust our scholar?

Assalamu 'Alaikum ikhwaan, and Jazak Allah Khair for the explanation bro. al Boriqee,

Many people today start saying that the Ummah made takfir of these scholars only because they practised science. this as explained above is not the case. The only reason takfir was made in their case was because of the fact that they were preaching heretical ideas, not that they were only practising science.

I guess we can address this to answer many Islamophobes and atheists, so Im favouriting this page. Thanx again to brother Al Boriqee.
