Default Preparations For Ramadan

Assalamu alaykum

Ramadan 2007 is almost round the corner, with over a month to go, where Muslims worldwide are going to fast, and for most of us this is going to be one of the longest fasts we have to keep yet.

so what steps can we take to make the most out of this Ramadan? this is the holiest month in Islam, and is such a perfect chance for us to reap in those very needed good deeds
  • how do you intend to spend this Ramadan so you can maximise your good deeds?
  • As it is the longest fast, yet to come, are you going to spend most of the day sleeping to kill time?and so iftaar time comes a bit more quicker?
  • Many of us will be in school/college/uni, how can we increase our rewards in this atmosphere?
So inshaAllah share your thoughts, views and any tips you have so we can make this the best Ramadan so far.

Wa'alikum-u-Salam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu

mashAllah really nice topic sister now that ramdan is just around the corner. I'm sure, insha'Allah, everyone definitely want to gain maximum reward and we plan & hope to improve in every new ramdan. It is really tough for students especially university students because i have experienced it last year. I could only pray tarweeh on the weekends because Masjid was about 20 minutes away from my room and also busy schedule with everything didn't allow me to pray at home either. Insha'Allah, this time around i'll make sure that i at least pray the tarweeh at home if not masjid. Other than that, it would be hard to do extra 'aml due to busy study schedule but may Allah Ta'ala make it easy for all of us and make us strive for His love..Ameen

Assalamu alaykum

Good replies so far.

InshaAllah this Ramadan some of my aims include:

Completing the Qur'an both the Arabic and English translation, last year was the the first Ramadan i completed the English translation alongside the Arabic, inshaaAllah i get time to complete both this year.

also, im going to use Ramadan to re-assess just my outlook in life, inshaAllah and its going to be a stepping stone to how the rest of my year shapes out to be and will also be a stepping stone to becoming a better Muslim inshaaAllah

hope everyone gets what they want out of Ramadan inshaAllah

This was started almost a year ago, and now Ramadan 2008 is round the corner!.

And yet again, this is one of the longest fasts we are going to have to keep.

So what would you like to achieve from this Ramadan? How can we reap in the rewards of Ramadan?after all isn't it known as the "Month of blessings, mercy and forgiveness"?.

Here are some articles you can read up on, about Ramadan inshaAllah
