SUBJECT : professional, ethical and legal issues in information systems

I am writing a research on professional, ethical and legal issues concerning geographical information system (ie. Google MAPS, Google Street view...etc.)

scope : GIS(geographical information systems) which contains large amount of data arround it such as Google EARTH

Identified issues ..

SECURITY
- Easy access most places in world including (Area 51)
- The stored data ( if this data is hacked or stolen?)
- FAKE GIS gathering methods
- FAKE or incorrect geographical information
- Used by terrorists (ie. indian incident)


PRIVACY
- just type in google "google street view privacy"


so there are many problems concerning these kind of GIS's
if any one have more ideas on this topic please post and negative arguments also welcome

Akh, what is the theme of this paper? What is your thesis statement? What are you trying to show/prove? So fine, we agree that certain ethical and legal issues exist so what is the conclusion you're trying to draw.

i am trying to say that maps has many threats @ the same time it has many advantages however still advantage can't overcome the disadvantages which are caused by these geographical information systems .

but akee if you can suggest any better conclusion please feel free to post .. smile

why I ask you all is because we all have different point of views on topics like this pls share
