Default Help with some random quotes/ahadeeth/ayat

Assalamu alaikum,

Not sure if this is in the correct place, but inshaAllah if its not, then the admins can shift it.

I need to collect some short random quotes/ahadeeth/ayat on love, fear and hope in Allah and also just love fear and hope in general...like from non muslims. Also some quotes on trust and trust in Allah..

If brothers and sisters here could post up anything they have, that will be greatly appreciated.

Jazakum Allahu khair in advance.

Wassalamu alaikum

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah

Fear:
Ibn Shubrumah mentions:
((I am amazed at the people who take care of themselves by eating food out of fear of dying, yet do not protect themselves from sins out of fear of the Fire)).
Siyar A?lam an-Nubala. - Volume 6, Page 348

Shaqeeq al-Balkhee said:
((The sign of repentance (is): weeping at what has preceded, fear of falling into sin, leaving evil company and maintaining the company of the good)).
Siyar A?lam an-Nubala. - Volume 9, Page 315

Muhammad ibn Wasi? (rahima-hullah) used to say:
((If sins had an odour then nobody would be able to sit with me)).
The Evil of Craving for Wealth and Status - Imam ibn Rajab al-Hanbalee

Hope:
al-Hafith Ibn Hajar al-?Asqalanee said:
((I drank some (Zam Zam water) once, whilst I was (just) beginning my studies in hadeeth, and asked Allah to bless me with the level/calibre of ath-Thahabee in memorising hadeeth. I then performed hajj after a period of about 20 years, and found myself to have exceeded that level/calibre. So I asked Allah for more than that, and I hope that Allah will grant me that))
al-Hifth ? Ahammiyyatuhu, ?Aja.ibuhu, Tareeqatuhu, Asbabuhu ? Page 65
Juz. fee Hadeeth ((ma.u Zam-Zam lima shuriba lahu)) libni Hajar ? Page 37

Sufyan al-Thawri said, ?Every act of disobedience committed due to passion, its forgiveness is hoped for. Every act of disobedience committed due to arrogance, its forgiveness is not hoped for because the root of Satan?s disobedience was arrogance, whereas the root of Adam?s lapse was passion.?

Muhammad ibn al-Duri said, ?The damnation of Iblis was due to five things- he did not acknowledge his sin, he did not regret, he did not blame himself, he did not resolve to repent, and he lost hope in the > mercy of Allah. The salvation of Adam was due to five things- he acknowledged his sin, he regretted it, he blamed himself, he hastened to repent, and he did not lose hope in the mercy of Allah.

Shaqiq bin `Abdullah reported: The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) did not consider the abandonment of any action as disbelief except neglecting Salat.
[At-Tirmidhi].

Commentary: The opinion of the Companions of the Prophet (PBUH) was based on the information contained in the Ahadith which have been mentioned above. They did not take the Ahadith which interpreted the leaving of Salat as Kufr mere scolding or reproof. They considered slackness and negligence in Salat as Kufr and apostasy and regarded Salat a symbol of Islam.

AssalamuAlaykum sis

Hope and Fear:

Ibn Qayyim says in his Madarij al-Salikin:

?The Heart, in its journey to Allah (swt) is like that of a bird:
Love is its head, and fear and hope are its two wings. When the
head and two wings are sound the bird flies gracefully; if the
head is severed, the bird dies; if the bird loses one of its wings, it
then becomes a target for every hunter or predator.?

***

'Umar (RA) said: If it were announced from the heaven: ?O people! You are all entering Paradise except one,? I would fear to be he; and if it were announced: ?O people! You are all entering the Fire except one,? I would hope to be he.""

***

Hope:

The Prophet had said: "Ask Allah for everything, even the lace of your shoes. If Allah does not provide, it will never be available." [Ibn al-Sunni, no. 349 - hasan. Supported by at-Tirmidhi 4/298 and others.]

Our beloved Prophet also said: "Verily your Lord is the One, Modest and Generous, and when His servant raises his hands to Him in supplication, He is diffident (in some wordings, "shy" or "hesitant") from returning them empty." [Ahmad, Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi - Hasan]

***

Fear:

Fear is like a candle whose flame helps a person distinguish
goodness from evil; and fear of God allows a person to turn away
from evil. Those who fear mere creatures flee from them; but those
who fear God flee to Him" - Rabi'a al-Basriyya
.

Abu Hurairah quotes the Prophet (Pbuh) as saying : ?By Him who holds my soul in His hands, you shall not be admitted into Heaven until you are truly Muslims, and you shall not be Muslims until you love one another. Spread the greeting of peace among you in order to love one another. Stay away from hatred because that is the razor. I do not say to you that it removes hair, but it removes the faith altogether.? (Related by Muslim Al Bukhari in Al-Adab, Al-Mufrad, Abu Dawood and Ibn Majaha)

Muslim relates on the authority of Ibn Mas`ud that the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said, "There was not a single Prophet among those who were sent before me who did not have apostles and companions and followed his Sunna and obeyed his commands. But afterwards other generations came whose words belied their deeds, and whose deeds were not in accordance with what they commanded others to do. Whoever struggles against the with his hand is a believer. Whoever struggles against them with his tongue is a believer. And whoever struggles against them with his heart is a believer. But when none of these things are done, then not a single mustard's seed weight of faith is present."

"Oh traveller of this world, your destination is the grave, the journey that your are undertaking will last only a few days, many have come since the beginning of the creation, none have remained they are now wrapped in dust, forget not that this is the overall destiny of all.

How many funerals have you seen with your eyes, with your hands how many of the dead have you buried, why do you stray from the inevitable end. Those who slept in luxury are now sleeping in dust, the king and the beggar now lay together, both are now equal, thats the effect of death."

The Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa'sallam said:
"The Muslim is a unique Ummah among the whole of mankind: Their Land is ONE, their War is ONE, their Peace is ONE, Their Honour is ONE and their Trust is ONE."

[Ahmad]

The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was guided to not only lead by example but also to once and for all establish standards of excellent social and spiritual conduct for men and women.
Allah Most High revealed in the Qur?an, ?Surely the men who submit and the women who submit, and the believing men and the believing women, and the obeying men and the obeying women, and the truthful men and the truthful women, and the patient men and the patient women and the humble men and the humble women, and the almsgiving men and the almsgiving women, and the fasting men and the fasting women, and the men who guard their private parts and the women who guard, and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember-Allah has prepared, for them forgiveness and a mighty reward." No other religion or ideology compares with such equitable gender-based treatment.

"A good word is like a good tree, its roots are firm and its branches are in heaven; so it gives its produce every season by the leave of its Lord." [al-Qur'an, 14:24-25]

AssalamuAlaykum

I thought this was beautiful >>

''The believing woman is never down for long. She is like a willow under a strong wind. She will bend to breaking point but will stay whole. She will sail against tides and storms. She may get bruised from life, but she'll never give up because she knows her Lord does not give her more than what she can bear, she knows her worth and even if she is walked upon or laughed at no one can take away her dignity, as her refuge is in Allah.''
