| ?A chapter regarding the order of bringing his (صلى الله عليه وسلم) guidance regarding the Kuffār and the Munāfiqīn from the time he صلى الله عليه وسلم was sent until he met his Rabb عز وجل : The first (verses) which his Rabb تبارك و تعالى revealed upon him was ?Read in the name of your Rabb Who created,? so He تبارك و تعالى commanded him to read it in his self and did not command him to convey it then. Then He تبارك و تعالى revealed upon him, ?O you (Muhammad) enveloped (in garments)! Arise and Warn!? So he informed him with, ?Read!? And sent him with, ?O you (Muhammad) enveloped (in garments)!? Then He commanded Him to warn his close kin, then to warn his country men, then to warn whoever is near him from the Arab (people), then to warn all the Arabs (and) then to warn all of the ?ālamīn (Mankind and Jinns). So he stood up for ten and some years, warning with the call without any fight and neither jizyah (tax). And he was commanded with halting (from fighting) and endurance and forgiving. Then He permitted him with regards to migration, and then He permitted him with regards to fighting. Then He commanded him to fight those who fought him, and stop (do not fight) regarding those who left him alone and did not fight him. Then He commanded him to fight the Mushrikīn until the religion (worship) will all be for Allāh.? [3:158-159 - زاد المعاد]
