Default Da'wah Through Actions #

Bismillah-Ir-Rahman-Ir-Raheem,

AsalamuAlaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

...O my brothers (and sisters), da'wah (calling to Islam) is to be done by your actions, as you are commanded to do it with your speech. However, da'wah through actions will be more effective than da'wah which is merely done with speech. So I say again, that those who practice Islam in a wrong manner, they will create a false understanding of Islam in people's view. Allah - the Most High - has said about those who invite to what is correct, but do not practice themselves:

"O you who believe! Why do you say that which you do not do. It is most hateful to Allah that you say that which you do not do." [Surah As-Saff 61:2-3].

Assalamu Alaikum

indeed it reminds me of the time when all the sahabi's (ansar wa muhajir) went for the pilgrimage only to be turned away and made to sign such a shameful treaty by the Quraish, and then when commanded to shave their heads they all seemed glum and hesitant so the prophet sallallahi alaihi wasallam withdrew fearing Allahs anger may over take them if he commands them again and they hesitate so his wife (umm salamah?) advised him to shave his own head and then the rest will follow.

Leading by ACTIONS!

mashaAllah

[At-Tirmidhi].

Commentary: The opinion of the Companions of the Prophet (PBUH) was based on the information contained in the Ahadith which have been mentioned above. They did not take the Ahadith which interpreted the leaving of Salat as Kufr mere scolding or reproof. They considered slackness and negligence in Salat as Kufr and apostasy and regarded Salat a symbol of Islam.
