| Selam aleykum For the purpose of better understanding the functions of the forum. If you press the "reply" button on a specific post, your post will quote the post you pressed the button of. However, using this method, the whole post will be contained in a single quote-box, which makes it hard if you're aiming for a point to point debate/refutation/discussion/questions. It is fairly easy however, to manipulate this quote box, in order to make multiple quote boxes. Step one: Delete the two quote-codes you find at the end [/qu0te] and at the start [qu0te] of the other person's quote. Alternatively, rather then using the reply button on the post, use the reply button on the bottom of the page, and copy paste the selections of text you wish to reply to. Step two: Select the section of text you want to have in a separate quote-box and press the "quote" button on the top menu (it's the yellow icon that looks like a text-balloon, 4th from the right). Alternatively, you can just type the code manually (although if you make a mistake, this will really mess up your post). The code should be used like this (I replaced the letter o by the number zero, so people could see the code): [qu0te]Part of text you want to appear inside quote-box [/qu0te] Looks like: Quote:
Looks like: Quote:

| thanks for putting this up akhee. One more thing to add, there is also the multi quote button. When you click on multi quote button, multiple posts of people will be quoted in one reply. This helps you to avoid double posts. Read more about this here

| Selam aleykum In order to have quotes from multiple posts, you have to follow these steps inshaAllah: Step one: Click the +quote button on a post, and you'll see it will turn red. This indicates that this post is selected. Note that you can de-select by clicking it again. Step two: Scroll down to the next post you want to quote, and press the +quote button there to. Repeat for more posts if desired. Step three: After having pressed all the +quote buttons on all the posts you want to quote, press the "add reply" button on the bottom of the thread. ps: I haven't actually tested this, but I think you can even quote posts from different threads trough this method.
