> Why many of IL projects stopped???

I was browsing through some old threads today and noticed how many projects decided to be worked on but I don't know what happened to them ):

Seriously, I read about IL Tube, Database Dawah, Translation, Hadeeth Database......and Allah knows if there is anymore I am not aware of before I came here. It seems like everybody got excited at the beginning of any project, then...................dunno what happened to them later!!!

What happened to all those awesome ideas? Its really a sad thing if the work on that stopped, wallahi it will be a waste.

What happened to the Dawah Database that many of us were very excited to work on? and even started on it?

IL Tube... I am not aware of it since I was not around, but just read about it now, and it was a real WOW by looking at one of the screenshots posted here, the beta version link is not working anymore though.....why did you stop working on that?


This is just a personal opinion so don't consider it if you didn't like it:
I think if we took them one by one then we might be able to do something, instead of getting lost with all these suspended projects!

If i was a good programmer, i'd start right now bi idhnillah.. but i'm not, so i can't :D

btw, don't you need Arabic texts for any ahadeeth or Ayaat on those posts? I can help on those.

plus....I know how it feels to have projects suspended for a long time. That really irritates me to be honest, thats why I want things to move on.

brother do it step by step, I can say that you have a lot of good Dawah ideas in your mind but we need to organize things so we wont end up suspending projects, right?

As I said, till next week inshaAllah

look through the threads, and whenever you find any keyword (which will be useful in debate or dawah) - just write it down in a new thread.

Then find the best refutations (on this site, or even on the net), and link them next to that keyword.


this way you do research at the same time, aswell as gathering the research for the benefit of the project bi idhnillah.

the main reason why our projects are slow or either suspended because we lack man-power and we got too many things on our plate. I agree with you that we got to take it slowly and finish one project and then do the other.

1 - IL Tube was never our own project, it was a script which I wrote for a brother. Even though, I was suppose to handle the whole website but it was really not our own project. However, the brother for some odd reasons didn't use it so the website was eventually shutdown. I wanted to have our own complete Islamic video website, like youtube, but then we realized that there are many others (i.e., youtubeislam), plus it would costs us a lot in terms of financial resources and time & effort and we don't have either of them at the moment. As a result, I stopped thinking about it and suspended further technical development.

2 - Dawah Database is still going on, it just that we have to manage it more properly and organize it. Akhee Qatada was working on compiling it but now he is busy so we will have to wait a bit before we can get around it.

3 - Hadith translation/database project is going on, I am working with ustad ayman and other brothers and we will put it up soon, insha'Allah.

4 - Arabic to English translation projects are largely dependent upon number of people. I don't know Arabic so we have to wait before we can get our hands on the text we want to translate and then find people to do the job.

I alone cannot do every single thing and everyone has their own things to worry about; so, I don't want to be pushy. For now, all I can say is that sabrun and give me sometime to organize my schedule. Insha'Allah, we will setup and finish all the projects we have in our mind.

We offered our help "me and Amat Allah" especially in the Dawah database and with you and Qatada and some others we could form a small team........few people is better than none.

I agree on the redundancy issue, so lets leave this out now

Just how many times I brought up that issue here? I always asked about that project but no one was replying.....no offense, I tried my best to pushing things here but without any use. We were working on the Arabic texts parts, but we found that there is no more English texts posted to get the Arabic ones for, so we stopped.

Thats a relief.....I am very looking forward to this project in a special way. InshaAllah it will work well.

sis Amat Allah and brother Gaber offered their help and I raised that issue many times to accelerate finding the right copy of the second book, but.........nvm. I wonder how the revision process for the first project go on!

two translators is better than none, we can keep on looking for more translators. I can look in the Arabic forums I am in.

Sorry if I sound rude or something, but seriously, I don't want such great idea to get buried alive. Above all of that, I want IL to be a perfect unique source of Islamic knowledge.

Okay then I will let you confirm the list before I start any further search for the refutations to make sure that I am doing the right thing inshaAllah
