Please suggest something as a special activity which we should do on forum during the coming month of Ramadan. It could be from learning the Qur'an (tafsir and uloom) or uloom of hadith or fiqh.

We can choose a book and then try go over it as much as we can, insha'Allah. I do not know how much time I can invest because 1) I really wanna focus on off-line things to get some time off from net 2) I may go for leading taraweeh this year and that really depends how much I am prepared beforehand. btw, those of you who do not know, I am hafiz, allhamdulillah

khayr whatever the case is, this is what I suggest:

1) Creating a new complete section for Ramadan
2) No more debates during the month; so, SilverLJ and optimist timeout please and I would suggest that you also do the same elsewhere.
3) during this month let us focus more on dawah related to our daily ibaadah. As a staff, I have to say to that this is our short coming for not giving enough attention to this type of dawah
4) For special activity, it would be much better if we more people participate, insha'Allah.

I would open up the ramadan section and then after it is over, put the section into the Worship section as it is part of worship

Masha Allah...I have no words....this is really great. Allah will reward you for this. I would suggest you to go for leading taraweeh. That will be a great experience and you will get rewarded many fold by Allah. You will also get lot of prayers from the people who join with you for the prayers. I want to repeat what Al boriqee has said; 'jihad of the pen during fasting. a triple fadheela' (smile). But don't worry about me brother salman, I will be more into learning Quran during Ramadan.

I would suggest that all members login to the forum twice in a week on a fixed time (for one hour or so) convenient for all, and learn about selected Quran chapters. Brother Al boriqee can lead the Quran study. It will create strong brotherhood among all the members. And I would also suggest all members to go for a fund raising to help at the least two desperate families. Each member can contribute something for this noble purpose and seek the help of others as well. This could be a small beginning but after a few years, by the grace of Allah, it can even become a major project.

I think we should have some competition kind of activity focused on learning surahs of the Quran. As in this way we will do this which we neglect through out the year.

What ever we should do, It should be simple, quick , light and easy.

I am really looking forward to improve myself to much higher limits inshallah from this Ramadan, so please get some thing going.

no, I did not get any ijaazah - it was plain simple hifz with regular tajweed

lol, barak Allahu feeka, you are too kind akh. but I will have pass the offer; I am pretty bad. Or maybe if I did lead taraweeh this year then I will record one day for you ikhwaan, insha'Allah.

any more ideas other than the competition? akh acid, what kind of learning competition? meaning? tafsir?

Who can memorize Surah Al Alaq in a week. Acid or Raied or Qatada.. The winner gets a green paint on his name ^_^.

There can also be competitions related to question which are about Ramadan and learning short duas etc.

We can learn the surahs, record audio and put it on forum and , mashallah, Admin Hafiz would listen to us and give feedback. We are students and you are eligible to detect our mistakes.

What do you say?

ps: I am in Karachi until 19 August, so would have limited access to internet

Yeah...but you have to see the members ability too, for example, that would be too hard for me, but my 5 Yr old brother can learn it in a day.

If we will cover a book for example its gonna be great if we consider the book size with the 1 month we have, so we will have a good time management.

well, I think I will do the same in some other places I am a member of, its better to focus on the more important issues in Ramadan.

I will do my best insaAllah, I will be back to my country before Ramadan by one week inshaAllah so I will have more time inshaAllah

having a competition will make us work harder inshaAllah, even though I was planning to stop memorizing Quran this Ramadan and go to revise what I memorized already, I will see what I can do.

100% agreed, so people will not find excuses that they have no time in Ramadan

immm....well, I dont think that recording option will work for sisters here, if we will learn a new surah we can just report in the forum that we did it without a need to record it and post it

Right, not all members have the same ability, so we need to keep that in mind
