Aqeedah Tahaawiyya
The Aqeedah is the famous work of Imam Abu Ja'far Al-Tahawi, the great Mujtahid Imam and scholar, which represents the creed of the Ahl Sunnah wa 'l-Jama'ah in relation to Allah Most High, His Divine Attributes, His Books, His Messengers, His Angels, the Day of Judgement, destiny and life after death.

This work though small in size is a basic text for all times. It lists comprehensively what all Muslims must know, believe and inwardly understand, and it has long been the most widely acclaimed, and indeed indispensable reference work on Muslim belief.

The course (one day intensive)

Imam Tahawi
Imam Abu Ja'far Ahmad ibn Muhammad bin Salamah bin Salmah bin 'Abd al Malik bin Salmah bin Sulaim bin Sulaiman bin Jawab Azdi, popularly known as Imam Tahawi, after his birth-place in Egypt, is among the most outstanding authorities of the Islamic world on Hadith and Fiqh (jurisprudence). He lived 239-321 AH, an epoch when both the direct and indirect disciples of the four Imams (Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Malik, Imam Shafi'i and Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal) were teaching and practicing. This period was the zenith of Hadith and Fiqh studies, and Imam Tahawi studied with all the living authorities of the day. He began as a student of his maternal uncle, Isma'il bin Yahya al-Muzani, a leading disciple of Imam Shafi'i. Instinctively however, Imam Tahawi felt drawn to the corpus of Imam Abu Hanifah's works. Indeed he had seen his uncle and teacher turning to the works of Hanafi scholars to resolve thorny issues of Fiqh, drawing heavily on the writings of Imam Muhammad Ibn al-Hasan al-Shaybani and Imam Abu Yusuf, who had codified Hanafi Fiqh. This led Imam Tahawi to devote his whole attention to studying the Hanafi works and he eventually joined the Hanafi school.

As-Salamu 'Alaykum

this must be a good informative and educational. It should clear up lots of misconceptions regarding salafis, their 'aqeeda and da'wah methodology. It is very important that we learn the correct 'aqeeda and don't fall into the traps of asharis or maturidis. If you don't have the 'aqeeda of the salaf then you are in big trouble and it is not too late; you should haste to learn and adhere to the correct 'aqeeda.

I'm not going to pick on anyone but you may want to check the 'aqeeda of the people from whom you take information. I remember reading a nice reply by brother Abu Zubair--admin of Islamic awakening--when he said: "if it wasn't for the mu'tazili and/or maturidi hijacking of the Hanafi madhab, and Ash'ari hijacking of the Shafi'i and Maliki madhab, the vast majority of them, too, would be Salafis."

By salafi, I mean having the 'aqeeda of the salaf. In regard to madhab, a layman has no madhab but most of the salafis have been Hanbalis since Imam Ahmad (May Allah be pleased with him) and later Hanbali scholars i.e. Shaykh ul-Islam Ibn Qadamah and Shaykh ul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah (May Allah be pleased with them) didn't let the heretics hijack their madhab and correct 'aqeeda.

EDIT: One important thing I forgot to add is that stay away from pseudo-salafis.

Ahl al-Hadith are the followers of the Prophet (sal-allahu 'alayhi wa salam). Even if they did not accompany him, (it is as if) they witnessed his every breath.

You talk of not picking on anyone and yet make blatant statements attacking those of ashari and matrudi aqeedah. It would seem you are misinformed about them otherwsie, you would realise it comes from the beliefs the salaf. Sit with an alim over time from this angle in an open minded manner and you too shall realise this is teh case. This narrow minded attcking is pathetic.

^bro, it is not I am misinformed but I have noticed that many people who may be following the 'aqeeda of the Asharis or Maturidis themselves don't know the differences. We, salafis, would love to not to talk about it if it weren't due to heretics hijacking the deen. What do you have to say about Tawheed As-Sama wa-Sifat i.e. speech of Allah, His Hands etc? Would you like to tell us where is Allah?

As far concerning I am narrow minded, let me quote you Imam Ibn Jawzi (rahimahullah) on Asharis, who said:
The heretics claim; i) there is no god in the Heavens, ii) neither is there Qur'an in the Mushaf, and iii) nor is there a Prophet in the grave; 'your three shameful facets'
Lastly, just an advice, please do attend this conference/course and insha'Allah, you may learn the correct 'aqeeda.
