Okay, so imagine this. An automated system for dawah to non muslims.

We don't have to do anything, except start it up at first.


How does it work?

Question:

Do you believe in a Higher Being?


Yes.

No.

If the person clicks on No hyperlink, it goes onto an article which we will have writ up for atheists.



If they click on Yes, another set of questions will come up.

I.e. Do you believe in Messengers of God?

Yes.

No.

Click your chosen one.



If its Yes, we ask them;

Do you believe in Jesus?


Yes.

No.

If they click on yes, we talk about how you percieve him. Prophet, or god? etc.



Then we have brief, convincing articles which explain the Islamic concept of these issues.



You get my drift...


We can all work on the articles insha Allah, and it doesn't require programming. Just basic linking to other articles.

its interesting because we don't have to repeat the arguments to anyone whose interested, instead that person does it at their own pace and timing, and whatever topic they're interested in and which is personally related to them.

It will help us to direct a person to the right articles without entering into any arguments! I think it could be done simultaneously with idawah project or maybe substitute it ?

We can put questions/choices like:

1. Do you want a cool administrator at Islamic Life?
Yes-----No

If Yes ---

Answer: Acid ..

If No---

Answer: Salman

It is going to be another happy programming weekend and here I thought I would have some time to chill, I mean catch up on Arabic, lol.

Maybe I need to drink some lassi, brother qatada the lassi man, throw some lassi here, hahaha. But hold on, lassi doesn't give any brain boost, lol

akhi, i think its better if its separate from this project. Because this project is aimed at Muslims, and the other one is separate and aimed at non muslims.

I think there can be a simple one and a more detailed one. A person can choose the one they're interested in from the beginning. the IslamReligion site has this on some of their articles too i.e. in the history section.

This way, beginners can access simple and basic articles and people focused on the details can access the detailed one.


Think about it. For example on the basic one, we can simply mention the belief in Jesus of Islam and a few logical arguments or a few verses here and there. Whereas in the detailed one, it will focus on the accuracy of the Bible with historical quotes etc. u get me?

So on the basic one, it would be like;

Jesus was a servant and Messenger of God, who called his people - the Jews - back to the religion of Moses. We don't believe he is God because God does not eat, or drink, or be born etc. Also on the Day of Judgment, God will ask those who you worshipped - to get your reward off them. Jesus is a servant of God, and no-one will reward on that Day except the Creator and Provider of everything. So Jesus is not worshipped, like none of the previous Prophets were worshipped etc.

You get what i mean right? Something simple and logical to the layperson.

Whereas if a scholar or more focused student of comparative religion checks the detailed one, then they get the answers they require. Although this will be detailed, it won't be too long either.

akhee, isn't iDawah (for Muslims part) will be focusing on this aspect as well. I mean the whole iDawah suppose to be simple and responses suppose to be short and concise and link them to long articles. So questions like these will go there and for details people can refer to long articles. I think we kind of said that long articles/responses will be posted on IL home page. And iDawah (short) responses will lay the foundation for it.

I understand the options part, meaning display links or articles for options they select, but this is confusing. Do you wanna clear this up for me, insha'Allah?

lol, akhee, it is easy to say then done...but yeh, I'll have to sit down and think about the possibilities and best way to incorporate this in our script without having to do too much manual work when adding such options.
