Dear brothers and Sisters, recently i was thinking of something, and by something i mean maybe a website, a book or anything. To write a response to the so called quranic Contridictions, and other crtisizm. Or if there is a brother like akhi basaam if he can tell us what i can know from the critisizm he took and answered. Or any other brothers who have experiance, recently i got invited to my school, debating club and they made a topic on "Islam" we had to agree, but i am still pretty not sure if i should go for it.I might, not sure but might.

So I am asking for tips, or the things i must know in a debate(i mean live debate. I have had many debates online.) that i might be 80% sure to get question , on so called contridiction in quran, and stuff that others critisizers make about islam on web pages. But this is a chance for me to do what allah (swt) wants me to do. Pass the truth of islam.

I am pretty much ready for the questions, and answering the contridictions inshallah.

i don't think u should do a public debate bro, because people will get stuff from the internet and you might make mistakes and make islam look lower.

but the idea of making a site for refutations on alleged contradictions is good.

akhee, masha'Allah, it is good see that you are eager to learn and defend Islam but you are not ready yet; this is too early in your da'wah stage. You can tell them that you do not want to debate but if they have any questions about Islam then you can get answers for them. Also make it clear to them that you are not knowledgeable: insha'Allah, there is no shame in admitting a fact and realizing where you stand.

Remember an important thing: when we start learning Islam and at the beginning stage, the shaytan put waswsas in our hearts; he makes us have these arrogant thoughts: "I know this and that and fullan person is a jahil I should refute him" or "look how well i can respond or debate". So whenever you get this thought seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan.

As far you other idea about contradictions, they have been already covered on many websites, the good ones can be found at akhee Bassam's website by akhee Al-Ansar. Maybe in future we will dedicate one website to them, insha'Allah

do not debate with them at all. leave them be. If you are tried and tested, then in such a case where you must, then refute them on the spot, and be direct and to the point. Never go on the look out seeking to debate with them.

Our pious forefathers use to say thathis is a general implied meaning of some of the stuff I read from them

Hasan al-basri was being approached by someone who wanted to debate with him and he told him
"I already know my religion, if you don;t know your religion, then go find it"

when someone has yaqeen of Islam, their minds are on a different path than to debate with imbeciles. Even after full confidence in myself to be able to address whatever doubts the kuffar have against Islam, as of yet, I have not done any debating, except on a textual basis like on the forum. Thats it.

as for you specifically, akhee sunnikid, your PRIMARY concern right now is to learn your religion. learn the arabic languga, then learn Qur'an. You need to learn the fundamentals of Islam so you can have a rudimentary level of knowledge where you may be able to defend Islam against kaafirs more so than hurting Islam because as of right now, you may have a greater chance in not granting victory to Islam rather than making Islam (in your debate) uppermost.

you need to learn speech, rhetoric, styles of argument, arabic, qur'an, hadeeth, and then after that the sciences of hadeeth, usoolul-fiqh, and fiqh. You have to learn the major and detailed aspects of aqeedah, eman and kufr, tawheed in all of its aspects and what nullifies it, all of that in detail.

thefiks.org you can BEGIN to develop some fundamentals of knowledge in the various subjects that ustaadh Abu Taubah offers. You have to rectify yourself both spiritually and through knowledge. Once these two take place, you can then lift ignorance off of yourself, but of those around you.

the reason why Bassam can do what he can do because he studied philosophy, knows arabic, knows the cultural divide in full between american life and arab and Islamic life. He knows and has a fair knowledge of the issues of our aqeedah, and other aspects of knowledge which is why he is able to do what he can do, as well as others. Patience, in your case, may be the biggest struggle and I have been there, because I was once in the same position of eagerly desiring to blast the enemies of Islam but I was not equipped to perform the job. And after having gone through what I have gone through, I still do not thnk im ultimately fit to do it so I consider myself as a help where and when I can.

about the debate,someone once gave me some good advice which went ong theines that debate prooves nothing br how good one is at debating. And then they said that I'd be better off writing an e-book or something as it is more
effective. So I suggest that advice to you as well.
