Arrow Da'wah for a Grandfather

My grandfather is a Protestant Christian. However, he has a philosophical way of thinking and is influenced by the teachings of Charles Darwin and Sigmund Freud (may Allah curse them both).

My mother reverted to Islam at the age of 16, and when she asked him about any logic behind Christianity, he replied, "People don't embrace Christianity out of logic, but out of emotion".

What is making my Da'wah even more difficult is the fact that he was a professional sales manager, and therefore knows how to turn conversations to satisfy his own proposition.

I am not asking for 'counselling' on this topic, but I want the viable replies of anyone on this forum - feel free to answer.

Jazakumullahu Khaiyran,

Wassalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Your Brother in Islam,

Beauty of the Religion

As evil as this may sound (of course this isn't the intention) if i were in your position, i would figure out the rules of his game and beat him at it, so to speak. Not necessarily to 'defeat' him, but at the very least to let him know that twisting the conversation isn't the way to debate. so basically fight fire with fire. im not sure if that's the best advice though:|

But emotions can be very misleading and blinding. i think that point alone (the one I bolded in your quote) would be the door to a very easy debate.

asalam alaikum

give him a translation (of the meaning) copy of qur'an, trust me :) let him ponder and reflect himself.. people who are at 'that level' need to think for themselves without someone 'imposing' things upon them.

since they have a psychological battle within themselves, if they're not open to talk to people, the Qur'an will affect them psychologically insha Allah. even if it just means leaving a copy next to him, and giving him the choice to read it. so long as he has that access to it. it will affect him in some way, insha Allah..
