| :Akhi can someone explain this contridiction with more detail? 1) How many generations were there between Abraham to David? Matthew 1:17 lists fourteen generations. Matthew 1:2 lists thirteen generations. the christian replied number 1), the fourteen generations from Abraham to David are: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah, Perez, Hezron, Ram, Amminadab, Nahshon, Salmon, Boaz, Obed, Jesse, David (which makes fourteen I believe). I replied: Point Number 1: Matthew 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations. (14 x 3 = 42) Point Number 2: Matthew 1:2-16 (Leaving out the begats.) Jesus Joseph Jacob Matthan Eleazar Eliud Achim Zadok Azor Eliakim Abiud Zarubbabel Shealtiel Jachoniah Josiah Amos Manasseh Hezekiah Ahaz Jotham Uzziah Joram Jehoshaphat Asaph Abijah Rehoboam Solomon David Jesse Obed Boaz Salmon Nohshon Amminadab Aram Hezron Perez Judah Jacob Isaac Abraham = 41 wsallam Last edited by Sensationnz; 09-28-2009 at 09:29 PM. |

| Did Jesus Perform Any Signs? If He Did Then How Many? Mark 8:11-13 The Pharisees came and began to question Jesus. To test him, they asked him for a sign (semeion) from heaven. He sighed deeply and said, "Why does this generation ask for a miraculous sign (semeion)? I tell you the truth, no sign (semeion) will be given to it." Then he left them, got back into the boat and crossed to the other side. However, in another place it says that his generation would be given the sign of Jonah... Matthew 12:38-39 Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, "Teacher, we want to see a miraculous sign (semeion) from you." He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign (semeion)! But none will be given it except the sign (semeion) of the prophet Jonah.

| :These Are some of the contridictions in OUR "GOSPELS" Is Paul lying? In Acts 20:35 Paul told people "to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" Since Jesus never made such a biblical statement, isn’t Paul guilty of deception? Who approached Jesus? (Matthew 8:5-7) The Centurion approached Jesus, beseeching help for a sick servant. (Luke 7:3 & 7:6-7) The Centurion did not approach Jesus. He sent friends and elders of the Jews. When did the lEper become not a leper? (Matthew 8:13 & 8:14) Jesus healed the leper before visiting the house (Mark 1:29-30 & 1:40-42) Jesus healed the leper after visiting Simon Peter’s house. Was she dead Or just dying? (Matthew 9:18) He asked for help, saying his daughter was already dead. (Luke 8:41-42) Jairus approached Jesus for help, because his daughter was dying. If we decide to do good works, should those works be seen? Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works." 1 Peter 2:12 "Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that ... they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation." This contradicts: Matthew 6:1-4 "Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them…that thine alms may be in secret." Matthew 23:3-5 "Do not ye after their [Pharisees'] works ... all their works they do for to be seen of men." Wsallam |
