Dear brother, you are misunderstanding my intention. Do you think that I am trying to say something against brother Salman. I respect him as my own brother though he opposes some of my posts with strong words. Brother salman is a person with strong mind and strong will power. What I felt about brother salman is that he can not tolerate even any slightest provocation from any side when it comes to Islam and its beliefs. We all have different attitudes. We have to accept this difference. But I only wanted to highlight the character of the prophet how much pain he was having inside his heart for people not accepting his message and even Allah had to intervene to console him. Most of us can not have this nature of the prophet because we are all one way or other least concerned someone going to hell. Reading this verse I can visualise the attitude of the prophet towards his enemies and people who opposed him. We all have lot to learn from this. It is just to highlight this point I posted the above comments. Please for Allah's sake don't misinterpret my intention.

“(Oh Muhammed) Do not destroy yourself in grief that these people do not believe: it is not thee they reject: it is the Signs of Allah which the wicked contemn. Rejected were the Apostles before thee: with patience and constancy they bore their rejection and their wrongs until Our aid did reach them:………………..but [remember that] had God so willed, He would indeed have gathered them all unto [His] guidance. Do not, therefore, allow thyself to ignore [God's ways]. Only they who listen [with their hearts] can respond to a call; and as for the dead [of heart], God [alone] can raise them from the dead, whereupon unto Him they shall return (6:33–35).

wassalam

When you dwell in philosophical debates with them, you end up like mutaklimeen.
Hey Salman, just browsing through the forum for the first time, and coincidentally noticed I was mentioned by name! Just to clarify, I have no 'gang' although it is flattering of you to think so.

As I suppose this is my first post, just want to say I look forward to being a part of this forum and indeed instead of learning how to refute 'x,y,z' position actually seeking the truth, which after all is the whole point. Remember guys, the average atheist, agnostic or deist (i.e. kafir) has absolutely nothing to gain from winning debates with Muslims.

In the spirit of searching for the Greater Truth,

Eliphaz

Hi, welcome to the forum
I hope you have a beneficial stay here.
If you don't mind, I would like to point out from the start that in this forum we try to avoid having debates but prefer question-answer threads. That is because we intent to make this a sort of reference-database, rather then a place of discussion. Of course this doesn't mean you can't ask ask questions or be sceptical towards the answers we give you. Just that the approach here will be questioner-answerer rather then the peer-to-peer debates you'll find in LI forums.
