Topic dedicated to our second Arabic to English translation project: translating al-Siyasah al-Shar'iyyah of Shaykh ul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah).

I have just received word from our respected brother Muhammad Salman that we should start in translating the Siyaasa ash-Shar'iyyah of Taqi-u-Deen ibn Taymiyyah

In order to benefit from the type of file that I have of this book, the arabic translators need to download this file

this is the file that sets up the shamela program onto your computer in order to be able to open .bok files. These files, are mashallah much better than average pdf and word files as they come with an index and enhanced search options

Actually, My bad, I thought that the book was on the shamela file version. I only have it in the microsoft version. Im uploading it now inshallah. I have uploaded the Siyaasah ash-Shari'iyyah.

If the translators can download it and they can colaberate among themselvs as to which sections of the book they would translate, like one would get the first 50 pages, the second would get the next 50, and so on.

You will also have to help with this one either with translation or review. Right now we got only two translators and I do not know if the new brother, who registered upon sister ayaah's request, will help. khayr, allhamdulilah, doing something and little progress is better than nothing

Whoever want to volunteer please step forward. The teams are divided into two:

1 - Translation Team
2 - Review Team

Sister Aayah and Amat Allah, like the previous one, if no one else joins then you can divide the work among yourselves and however you want to do.

akhee, I just looked at the file, it is only 127 pages. I thought this was supposed to be around 400 pages, no? If it is this short how come the English translation of this is not complete? The Political thought of Ibn Taymiyyah

Im not sure about the page issue and why it is 127 pages. I'll have to find it someway

when you said that it is about 400 pages, did you derive that based on that english work you uploaded or did you literaly see the actual arabic which was about 400 pages.

Till now I have not started yet.... and I have been informed that there is a team that I am supposed to be working with... I have not seen them yet.I have not been assigned anything to start with.. I am so enthusiastic.. so let me know which part of the book is mine. Moreover, i want a part of the old translation of such books by your team in order that I can use the porper language in translation inshallah..

^ brother, thats because br. Al-Boriqee and br. Salman didn't upload the right version of the book they are talking about with the right number of pages......I wonder what made them late so far? I guess its because of brother Salman temporary inactivity in the forum these days. So just wait a little bit more jazakAllah kul Khair brother Gaber.

Couple issues

1. I have to verify the real book in terms of it's pag number. I'm not sure if what salman said is accurate or if it's not.

2. I have to verify that what I uploaded is a mukhtasir or the real deal

3. Once I find out the right pages and if I can get the book trough word or PDF then I will upload it her. After we know for sure that we have the whole book. Then I would suggest that both of you divide the project in half and we could leave how you select what to translate up to you and sister ayah. IF there are later additions to the project, then both of you would be Overseers of whoever comes in late so they can help you out and you can chose for them what you want them to translate.

4. What I will do is that I will request both of you to post and highlight the Arabic that you translated along with the translation so that way I can review them mUch more easily.

I would love to help translate but my Arabic is too weak and even weaker to be able to decipher ibn taymiyyan Arabic. I'm sure yall might see what I'm talking about when translating his work if you haven't noticed it already.
