| ![]() Bismillah Worshiping anyone beside Allah is shirk. Dua'a is an act of worship; hence, asking anyone for help beside Allah is shirk. Do these people not read the Qur'an and ponder upon it? The Qur'an is full of tawheed al-uluhiyyah: singling out Allah in worship. And this has been the core of the call of all the Prophets (peace be upon them): Verily, those whom you call upon besides Allah are slaves like you. So call upon them and let them answer you if you are truthful. Have they feet wherewith they walk? Or have they hands wherewith they hold? Or have they eyes wherewith they see? Or have they ears wherewith they hear? [Surah al-A'raaf 7:194-195 – interpretation of the meaning]The mushrikeen of Makka believed in Oneness of Allah but when it was asked to them why do you worship these idols, they replied: We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allah [Surah Az-Zumar (39): 3 – interpretation of the meaning]Is it permissible to call upon a dead wali (“saint”) or Hazrat ‘Ali Calling "Ya Muhammad" and Allah knows best
