| I have this question that's on my mind for a while, and I asked several people and none were able to answer me. I've also found other people with similar questions. See the thing that bothers me is, sometimes I have these doubts about certain issues. And after thinking about it for a while sometimes I come up with a solution, but then after a while, the solution brings the next problem/doubt. Now most people will tell you this is from shaytan and you should not indulge the thought. However that brings me to a problem. If shaytan brings the doubts, did he read my mind about the answer I thought up to the initial issue? So far everybody has answered me that shaytan can't read our minds. However nobody could show me a hadeeth or ayath to prove that. Now perhaps you're thinking, what's the difference? Doubts are doubts, what does it matter whether they come from your own reasoning or from shaytan's? Well the difference is, if I knew they are from shaytan, then the I wouldn't feel bad ignoring them. Because then ignoring the questions is more like a practical thing, not wasting time knowing that he will never stop trying whether I answer him or not. If on the other hand I knew the doubts come from myself, then I would find it difficult to ignore them. I wouldn't be able to shake the feeling that I"m "fooling myself" or that I'm being dishonest against myself by constantly and systematically ignoring a certain group of thoughts. In fact, doesn't Islam encourage the search of knowledge and claim that there isn't anything that Islam can't answer. So it would be hypocrite to preach that to others one one hand, yet ignore your own questions on the other, right? |

| Asalamu alaikum wr wb I'm not totally sure about your question on whether shaytan can know whats going on in our minds. But i do know that theres a hadith that all humans have a qareen with them, and this devil tries to make the people go on the wrong path, so he even whispers to them (waswasa - evil thoughts) etc. http://www.islam-qa.com/index.php?re...eng&txt=qareen Since this qareen is with you throughout your life, he knows what you read too etc. therefore when you read some info, he may whisper to you and make you confused, and these thoughts may be what cause doubts. Regarding not knowing answers; the main thing is that we dont allow the whispers to reach our hearts, but there is nothing stopping us from attempting to find an answer to what you are unsure of. Carry on asking Allah to guide you and give you the answer, and sooner or later He will insha Allah due to your sincerety. PS: Jazak Allah khayr for the support on the forum :) And Allah knows best. |
