| As-Salamu 'Alaykum Some of you may have noticed new features and some may haven't. So here's list of new features and quick tutorial on how to use them 1- Thread Prefix and Thread Tags Both of them are optional but encouraged to use them. Tags: You can add tags when you a create a new thread and you can later edit tags of your own threads. Tagging system builds a search cloud which helps users to search for keywords that are frequently searched or used on the board. Prefix: When you create a new thread in some forums you will have an option to add an appropriate prefix. Some notes for Debate forums: 1- If you're creating a thread to ask a question, then use the "Question" prefix 2- If you're posting an Islamic response to attack against Islam then use "Muslim Response" prefix 3- If you would like to have a debate with a single member or other members or would like to share your debate with someone from another place then use the "Debate" prefix If you want more prefixes to be added, PM me or one of the other admins, insha'Allah. ![]() ![]() 2 - New Profile Page In the new profile page system: you can leave messages on other people's profiles, see list of friends or groups a user has joined and customize your profile's style, colouring scheme etc. ![]() ![]() 3 - User Control Panel a - Your last 5 posts and threads ![]() b - Networking and Request for a new username ![]() ![]() 4 - Social Bookmarking ![]() 5 - Quote a user's post in PM Instead of copying pasting a user's post, now you can directly quote it with one click. ![]() If one of the screenshots isn't clear, just click on it to view it in full size. Kind Regards, Islamic-Life Staff

| :Couple of new forum features are up for everyone, some of you may have already noticed 1 - Selecting your Gender and Religion Go to User CP -> Edit your details and then choose your gender and religion. This would help us in the long run. ![]() 2 - Sorting and Filtering Private Messages Now, you can sort out your private messages, USer CP -> Inbox and you'll see the options at the bottom, ![]() 3 - Quick PM Reply and Message History when you go to read a PM, you can see quick reply and Message History options at the bottom ![]() 4 - No more Birthday greetings on the board or emails 5 - No more access to Member List 6 - Now for the last point, I need some feedback, I'm thinking of allowing the users to login to forum using your Facebook username and password. This will work for both guests and users. What do you guys think?

| Wa-alaykum salam Good job bro! keep it up inshaAllah. With regards to your point 6, what implications does it have? Can you elaborate slightly on how this feature would work? and maybe outline some pros and cons inshaAllah because it is slightly unclear as to how it will work (well it's unclear for me) The only problem i see with this is, perhaps we use different usernames for our facebook and forum ones, and maybe people prefer it like that, with this new feature from what i gather, a person's facebook username would be their forum username?or is just the log in details which would be the same? |

| ^I can't really list the pros and cons as it is up to the users how they feel and I personally don't use Facebook so I don't know. But it could work for those who use Facebook quite often. anyhow, the following features are available 1 - At login you'll have the option to login with Facebook username and password. 2 - You'll receive Facebook notifications for, new PM, new reply to your thread, new reply to subscribed threads 3 - You'll automatically become friends with your Facebook friends (I suppose if they're resgistered on the forum) 4 - Thread/Reply feed posted in your Facebook wall I think that's pretty much it

| Then in that case, I can see both the up side and the down side for it The pros include:
There would be too many notificiations everywhere, like a wall post or a message in your inbox either from the forum or FB is automatically sent to your email, which may get quite annoying, however that could easily be solved, by disabling email notifications. Other than that it seems like a good idea |

| Bro that is an excellent idea, because it will help promote users. Now the question is can anyone from facebook log on to Islamic-Life, or will they have to register here first and then they will have the ability to log into with facebook info?

| ^yes, anyone can login, they don't have to be registered users. Basically, as long as you've a Facebook account, you can login. @Asma sister, it is only an option. If you've a Facebook account and you wish to login using it, then you can.
